And this is my surprise speech (which I choked on throughout) to the couple during the dinner. (for some of you who have been asking what I said for the night).

Good evening everyone,

I am Fengling’s sister, Rachel. I know we don’t really look alike. I look like my mum while she inherited her good looks from my dad. Just like our appearance, our characters are also totally different. I am more domineering and bad-tempered, just like my father. Fengling is like my mum, more qing cai, more accommodating and mild-natured. Opposite poles attract each other. I guess that’s why we share such a close relationship since young.

Fengling has been my longest friend. And I am thankful that my parents have given me such a great companion, especially throughout my childhood days. (Thank Mummy in Mandarin) Our childhood was really tough, I would say. We were very poor. We had no toys. No Barbie dolls. No teddy bears. Our only toys were each other. Our favourite pastime was playing masak. Sometimes I will pretend to be the salon owner and she will be the customer. We will arrange the stools in a row in the toilet and she will lie on them with her head dangling at one end. Then I will start to wash her hair like a 洗头妹. Waste water I know. But we had no money, so we just had to make use of whatever resources we can find at home. Of course, all these were done when our parents were not around and we cleared up everything before they got home. And now, my mum still doesn’t know about this because she doesn’t understand English. But those were the days and I really missed them.

Since young, we would share about everything and anything. And I never recall that there was any man in my sis’s life besides Matthew. Maybe there were one or two, but no one official. I still remember the first time I saw Matthew – It was at my father’s wake. I don’t even know if they have started at that point of time. Maybe it wasn’t an appropriate time to introduce him to us then. It was after some time later when Matthew came to visit again, then we knew it was official. Matthew was the first guy Fengling introduced to the family, and the only one ever since. Her 1st and only love.

Actually, I was quite surprised when Fengling introduced him to us. As we all know, Matt is the jiak gan dang kind. Whereas for Fengling, she is more of the Mandarin-speaking type. I have been speaking Mandarin to her for all my life. My mother even had problem pronouncing Matthew’s name for quite sometime at first. She kept calling him ‘Desmond’ which was the name of my ex-boyfriend. So, it has never occurred to us that Matt would be her cup of tea. But who knows, Matt turns out to be Koi, popular like anything.

Being the youngest in the family, my little sis has always been ordered around. ‘Ah Ling ah, can you do this? Mei ah, can you do that?” And she will always do the chores willingly without complaints. Especially ever since my dad left us, Fengling has become the ‘man’ of the family. Water pipes clod? Light bulbs fused? You know who to find. And I appreciate all the things that she has done for the family. Now that she is married, it is sad that the ‘handyman’ of the house is no longer living with us. Sad not because there is no one to order around anymore, but more so because we missed her presence and joy that she brings to the family.

But though we lost our ‘man’ in the house, we are very glad that she has found her ‘man’. A man who brings her and our family joy and laughter. A man who has been generous and treated our family well. A man who takes good care of her. And most importantly, a man who really loves her and dotes on her very much. And we are glad that Matthew is the man and we thank him for that. It’s a pity that my father could not meet his fine son-in-law in person. But it could also be because of his blessings that his 宝贝女儿 has managed to find her happiness, her 幸福 for her rest of her life. Like what she said, "We are a family of few words." But on behalf of Papa and Mummy, I just like to say “Ah Ling, Mei, We love you and 祝你幸福."

After all the renovation and festive celebrations, Dear and I finally had our 5th anniversary celebration which was supposed to be on Xmas Eve. I managed to get two Universal Studio tickets at only $16/ticket ($50 subsidy from HDB), thus we decided to have our anniversary celebration there.

Waiting for Dear to finish his Cyclone roller coaster ride. We were really suay that day. We had the Revenge of the Mummies ride and when it was finally our turn, the ride shut down temporarily due to technical difficulties!!! They advised us to visit other rides instead as they do not know when the ride will resume. We waited almost an hour for nothing? We decided to wait and thankfully the ride resume shortly.

When we took the Galactica roller coaster ride, it started to pour just before the ride started. Our eyes were shut for the entire ride because of the rain! Totally drenched after the ride. And shortly after we got out from the ride, the rain stopped!!! WTF. Seriously suay to the max. That explains my pout as I was all wet while waiting for Dear to finish his Cyclone ride which he chickened out in the end. Tsk tsk.

I finally managed to get my internet connection in my new home!!!!
Time for a celebration and a blog post!!!!
It's been some time since I posted.
Been really really really busy.
So busy that I have not touched my Restaurant City, Pet Society, Hotel City etc at all for so long.
It has been a long time since I got my 8-hour (min) power sleep.
Mostly due to work and the new house.
Many many weekends burnt.
Including this coming oneS.
Will have more time after the major event this weekend. Hopefully.
Shall be posting more often then. And more photographs of my new home!!!

Stalked in Bangkok

I always thought Bangkok is a rather safe place to stay in. Afterall, I have been there several times and had enjoyed myself. Till we met this bloody stalker on my trip with the Pinkies.

We were shopping at the night market in Pratunam and everything was fine till this black guy walked next to Huijun and said 'Hi' to her. Huijun ignored her and told the rest about it.

We then decided to walk away quickly but this asshole kept following us. Whenever we crossed the road, he did the same. We just kept crossing the road and made sure that he was always across the road and not too near us. We pretended not to look at him but at the corner of our eyes, we noticed that this guy was always in our sight. It was like one of those typical horror shows when the man will stand there with both arms straight by the side, staring blindly at you with a faint smile. I can still remember how he looked like. He was tall with medium build and was wearing a orange t-shirt that looked that it had not be washed for ages. His smile revealed his disgusting yellow teeth and accentuated by the black patches on his cheek.

The ladies wanted to head back to hotel but I saw the Birkenstocks stall and I wanted to buy a few pairs before we leave. As I was choosing the slippers, the ladies drifted away from me (but still can see them la) and I was the only one standing at the stall. This idiot began to walk nearer and nearer to the stall. It became so near that I thought he was just a metre away from me. I couldn't hold it further anymore. It was then I shouted at him: "What are you trying to do?!? Go away and stop following us!!!!"

With blood boiling, I decided to continue choosing my slippers. But I felt unrest. Despite my shouting, he did not move away. He just stared at me and continue that faint smile. He then began to talk on the phone. I decided that I shall not risk it anymore. I forgone my slippers and told the ladies that we should grab a taxi and head back hotel. We managed to got a cab and the ladies quickly rushed into the cab, with me and Mao throwing our beloved Burberry into the boot. At the back of my head, I could sense that the asshole was looking at us and smiling away. But thank godness, he did not follow us further as we drove off. We told the cabdriver to make a detour before heading back to the hotel safely.

Back in the hotel, my overwhelming emotions still could not subside. It wasn't fear. It was anger. What the hell was that fucker trying to do? Because of him, we could not shop further and go for our daily massage. Did it thrill him to see a few dainty chicks getting all frighty because of him? Or was he just mentally unstable? Parrot said that he could be one of those Nigerians who conned ladies to smuggle goods out of the countries. But I remembered in the news that these Nigerians are usually quite good-looking and would conned ladies with their good looks and sweet talking. This blooding mother fucker is definitely not considered good looking loh!!!! Whatever it is, our holiday was spoilt because of this fucker. Maybe should have paid a visit to the temple on our 1st day afterall. *signs*

So ladies, in the midst of all the crazy shopping in Bangkok or in any countries, please stay alert and beware of such happenings. It's never safe in anyplace. Even Singapore being such a safe country, one has the dangers of being randomly hacked by some teenagers on the streets. Outrageous!!!!

Facebook's new tagging function

I was uploading the photos for the Bangkok trip when I realised Facebook has this new tagging function! After uploading all the photos, Facebook will select the faces and automatically group them together. In this way, you only have to tag once.

The first few groups were fine:

Moi! Realised they captured quite abit for moi and Rabbit. Probably because we always have the same face for our shots...hee...

Then the grouping became more ridiculous:

It's all about the House

Realised my life has been pretty monotonous ever since I got the house.
Almost every free time I had was spent for the house. Every weekend burnt for the house.
Spotchecks on renovation....meeting with contractor....shopping for electrical appliance....lighting....furniture....zzzzzzzzz
And not forgetting packing the stuffs in my current home....
Why are there so many freaking things to pack in such a small house?!?!?!?!?
Haiz....

Fixing up a dream home can really cause a lot of unhappiness between a couple. Especially when one expects things to be done perfectly while another simply is the 'Green Vege' kind. Most of the time, I am the one raising the question and solving the problem myself in the end. Dear ends up holding the hands of the Contractor and asked me to adopt resolutions which are not the best ones. I just want the best for OUR house! What's wrong with that???? I can't stand it if I have to stare at these flaws for the next 10 years I am going to live in!!! In the end, I always had to fight for the best myself with Dear's silent consent. Makes me seem like such a bully. Haiz.

Contractor said that the renovation should be done by 2nd week of November but he has only done the tiling so far!!!!! Furthermore, he had to redo some of it because I wasn't happy with it. Call me Ms Perfectionist aka Ms Anal. =p
Seriously doubt that it will be done by then.
I can't wait to settle in my new house!!!!!!!

Bad Dream=Windfall?

I had a bad dream that woke me up in the middle of last night.

I was in this room having a gathering with my colleagues and my director.
Then I was talking to this Pinkie who was carrying a KS bag which has a design that I didn't see before. I still remember I actually quite liked the design.
I was talking to her and she told me she had to leave to board her plane.
Then she boarded a helicopter which flew haphazardly and flew very near to another plane.
And I was in that other plane.
I cursed that helicopter for flying so dangerously.
The next moment, my plane went out of control and tried to fly under the MRT viaducts near Jurong East MRT.
Unfortunately, it failed and my plane crashed into the viaduct.

The fright woke me up.
I seldom have dreams that are so vivid like that.
I got out of the room to find Dear who was still not sleeping.
He was actually still playing 'Words with Friends' with my iPhone in the living room.
At 3:30am.

I told him the dream.
He said that the dream is impossible as only military planes can fly in Jurong East areas.
Duh.
He added that I should also buy 4D the next day.
Crashing plane signifies descending numbers.
So I should buy his carplate number 7765.
How consoling.

I bought $10 for 7765 today.
We shall see.

Ridiculous Dear (Part II)

Last night, Dear was rubbing his eyes and an eyelash was stuck in his left eye. In the soft tissue area near the tear gland. He said it was like a needle pricking into his eye. It hurt whenever he blinked.

No amount of water rinsing, rubbing or blinking could get the eyelash out.
He was wailing like a baby.

The only way was to use the fingers to rub the eyelash out. But I don't even dare to touch my own eyeballs, let alone his! (Fyi I don't wear contact lenses.)

So I had to ask his brother for help. 2 men shouting at each other in the toilet at 3am in the morning. And his brother was having a hard time finding the eyelash, seemingly camouflaged with the eye veins. Dear even attempted to use a tweezer (the one I used to pluck my eyebrows).

I kept asking if he wanted to go to A&E to take it out. Imagine going to the A&E. Just to take out an eyelash. The doctor would laugh his head out. And the bill incurred for just a freaking damn eyelash.

Thank Buddha we didn't have to resort to that in the end. Because after half an hour of wailing and struggling, the freaking eyelash finally came out.

Dear didn't even realise the eyelash was out till he saw it on his cheek. He was still searching for the eye lash in his eye when it was already out.

The freaking 'long' eyelash which caused Dear's deep torment.

The poor eye who had gone through much torment. *sayang*

I had my eyelashes stuck in my eyes before.
But not like this.

The only thing I could say to him after the eyelash came out was:

"Dear, you are really ridiculous."

Dear smirked.

Perhaps you want to remove all your eyelashes Dear? You don't consider that ridiculous right?

This question has been repeated countless times between Dear and I.
Budget is a main concern.
Japan seems like an ideal location. Affordable and lots of fun places to go.
But Dear is STRONGLY against it.
WHY????
As he hates Japanese.
WHY???????
Because Japanese caused us a lot of sufferings during WWII.
???!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

Dear also wanted to soleminise our wedding in a temple, in particularly Brighthill Temple which happens to have a crematorium too.
Imagine seeing a funeral process during the solemnisation.
Talk about East meets West, 黑事meets 白事.
So interesting right?
In the end, we compromised.
We shall include Brighthill Temple as one of the venues for our bridal shoot.

Can anyone find a more ridiculous boyfriend?

56th Monthiversary

Quarreled with Dear last night and said a lot of harsh words which I don't mean. After we talked thing over, I apologised to Dear and he touched me with this SMS (happened to be after midnight and it is our monthiversary):

"Thank you dear. I'll tolerate those words as i know u said them because i was wrong. I will treat them as nothing because i know u r the woman of my love. No harsh words from you will erase the beautiful moments of love from you. Happy 56th Monthniversary."

This SMS caused me to wet my pillow.

Decided to compensate Dear with a small surprise gift.

Clearing the Air

LONG TIME NO SEE

It's been a few months since the last time I blogged. But it seems like more than just a few months. With the amount of memos I write a day and the amount of time I spent in front of the PC everyday in the office, I guess writing has became the last thing that ever came to my mind when I am free. All I want to do is sleep. Every morning when I wake up, I look forward to that night when I can sleep. Call me old hag. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Life's been pretty much the same for me I guess. It has became monotonous that I have nothing much to blog on. Like what Dear always said, it's just boring shit. Even when I have something in mind, it just slipped away or I am just too lazy to blog about it. I don't even read blogs now! Zzzzzzzzzz.

It could be because I am too pre-occupied with my next stage of life too. My new flat!!!! Been sourcing around for quotations....looking for fengshui shi....preparing the documents.....blar blar blar.... Getting our keys next month and we hope to get the house done by Xmas!!!

And there is also another thing that I am looking forward to....my Proposal!! No surprise at all, as usual. I know that Dear is buying the ring now. I am just waiting for the moment and pretending to be surprised when he eventually pops the question. Haiz.

I realised that I don't talk about my problems as much as I do before. Not that there are no problems. There are problems but I simply keep to myself. I figured that sharing my problems may not help too. Eventually I just have to resolve them myself. So I just let them sink in and be forgotten overtime. Maybe that is a reason why I don't blog as much now.

I guess that's enough boring shit for now. Will try to update more interesting stuffs, if there's any.

Went for dinner with Dear and my family at Tawandang@Dempsey over the weekends. To our surprise, there was a beer competition!!! Free Beer!!! Why not???

And the competition began! Dear finished 1 pint in less than 10s!!!! Crazy man.

Check out that ang moh at the other end. He hardly drank the beer loh! Bet most of them just purplely drink slowly, so that they can bring back the pint of beer back to their seat and slowly enjoy. Naive Dear. Drink so fast. In the end, the prize is just a tee-shirt. Boo~~~

This question has been bothering for the past couple of weeks:

To stay or not to stay? To change or not to change?

WARNING: This is going to be another serious topic. Time to close the browser if you are not interested in hearing my woes.

Here's the story.....

2 weeks ago, I was invited by my ex-contractor to the annual CNY dinner with my ex-company. For those who are thinking when the heck did I have an ex-company (like my Pinkies), I did had an internship ( http://yoniko.blogspot.com/2008/06/1st-interior-project.html ) for more than a year in a company and even did an interior job. @##%&*@#$%&*
Anyway, as I was saying, I went for the dinner and my ex-boss sorta hinted to me that there is a vacancy available in the firm currently.

Thus, that created the question which had bothered me for the past 2 weeks.

To stay or not to stay? To change or not to change?

Sighz.

Let's analyse the situation.

Stay in current job!!!

Pros:

1. $$$$$ - Higher pay + confirmed annual increment + bonu-es (note that -es)

2. LUXURIOUS working space ( http://yoniko.blogspot.com/2009/02/improved-working-environment.html )

3. Great colleagues whom I get along with quite well

4. Close proximity of good & cheap food, shopping and amenities

5. Regular working hours (8.30am - 6pm. Late OT few times a month)

6. Sponsored overseas scholarship (if I decide to work long enough)

Cons:

1. Jobscope. (I am writing and reading more than drawing and browsing. I am an ARCHITECT for goodness sake! I HATE MEMOS, CIRCULARS AND APPROVALS!!!!! If I don't leave soon, I will be stuck in here forever and EVER!)

2. Female boss (shall not elaborate more on that.)

3. Regiment. (shall not elaborate more on that too.)

Change job!!!

Pros:

1. Jobscope related to what I studied i.e. REAL Architecture stuff. Stuffs which I have interest and passion it. Stuffs which I can see concrete achievements done by myself in my lifetime.

2. More travelling opportunities.

3. Cosy working environment. It is like a family working together.

4. Good staff welfare. When I was working there, Boss sponsored us for a company trip (to Bangladesh though). Hamper for each of us during Xmas & CNY (All given by cilents and contractors). Occasional treats e.g. champage and cheese session. Free dinner whenever we work late. Endless supply of beer, wine and cappuccino in pantry.

5. Start work at 930pm (but end work at god knows what time).

Cons:

1. $$$. Lesser pay and I am expecting a pay cut. No annual increment. 1 bonus a year. (I hope.)

2. Dominated by females. Even rhe 2 male team leaders are gone. Expecting lots of catfight and attention seeking from boss.

3. Longer working hours. (OT everyday.)

4. Small working space and no internet. (Table of width<1m.>

5. No food and amenities in close proximity. The closest one is Newton Circus Food Centre which is like few hundred metres away. Try walking on heels at 1pm to a place which has no good food. Most of the time, we split into a few cars and venture to different places for lunch. And I hate Novena Square.

6. 15-20min walks away from MRT. (Spare a thought for me can? In heels leh!?! =p)

SO............
To stay or not to stay? To change or not to change?

Any advice?

Childish couple

Being sick, I asked Dear to get me a cup of water so that I could eat my medicine. After waiting for more than 5 minutes, I decided to check out why he was taking so long to take a cup of water. (Anyway, 5 minutes is considered very long liao hor! We don't live in a mansion leh!) I found him sitting in his mum's room, trying to thread a needle.

Me: What are you doing? Where's my water ah?

Dear: Later can? My father asked me to help him thread a needle. Come help me. Help me pull the string out from the other side. (The thread was through the hole already and simply needed to pull out from the other side of the needle hole.)
*Moi pulled the thread out from the other side of the needle hole. Threading done!

Me: So mafan. Thread a needle also need people to help you. *grumbles*

Dear: What?!?!? No loh. It is because you came to disturb me, so I can't thread properly.

Me: Har? Really ah? Ok loh. Don't disturb you then.
*Moi pulled the entire thread out from the needle and walked to the kitchen.

Dear: HOH FONG KIEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

*Moi walked to kitchen and saw that my cup was filled with water. Moi walked back to my room and ate my medicine happily.

From my room, I heard Dear shouting and complaining to his mother in Teochew.
Dear: Where got people's girlfriend like that one? Thread the needle liao then pull out the thread?!?!??!?!?!?!

Dear and I decided to go for a short trip during my 'long' December holiday. So where shall we go? Let's drive up to Malacca!!!!!

We were in search of some food in Jonker Street after checking into our hotel. Yong Chun Mian?

We wanted to try Melaka's 'infamous' chicken rice balls. But the queues at all the outlets were insanely long! Finally, we settled for Jonker Dessert 88! Dear did some research and said this place is famous for their chendol. Their gula-melaka is so thick that the spoon can't even sink beyond it. Haha.

Finally found a seat inside after queuing up for my food in the scorching hot sun.

After dinner, we went back hotel and Dear was amazed by how cheap the food were in the room service menu. In the end, we ordered a plate of char kuay tiao and seafood beancurd. *shakes head*

After eating so much for Day 1, we still had an unsatisfying appetite on the next day. After we had breakfast in the hotel, we embarked on our nonya-themed tour for Day 2. We went past the chicken rice balls restaurants but with no queues this time. As it was only 10am! Dear said, "Why not? If not, you will complain we didn't eat the famous chicken rice balls though we went to Melaka."

No big deal. Rice that were too hard. Chicken that were cut badly and not tender. Even the chicken rice I cooked was nicer. I swear. I am just thankful we didn't have to queue to eat this.

Time for lunch. Nonya food of course. The food was good but the experience was unpleasant unfortunately. Waited for almost an hour for our food. And had a Singaporean family waiting impatiently for us to finish our food so that they could have the table. Rude children who told their parents, "Huh? I don't want to share table!" Fucking hell. Like we want to share with you loh. Fucking spoilt brats. Dear purplely ordered another chendol to prolong our meal. Haha. Singaporeans always think they are so high-class but behave like barbarians. It is so easy to spot them when you are overseas. Via their ugly behaviour.

Time to go back to Singapore!!! Check out the number of coupons we used.

The only thing in Malaysia that is better than Singapore's.

Basically, you scratch the numbers on the coupon. So fun! I would volunteer to help Dear scratch the coupon every time! And no one can play cheat and reuse with this kind of coupons, which a lot of cheapo Singaporeans like to do so.

We finally got home and I had a sorethroat which led to a very bad cough which I am still having now. Haiz. Had 2 weeks of leave but sick for 1 week. Utter sian-ness. Won't be going Malacca in the near future I guess, as we have pretty much covered everything in that 2 days. Beside the only downside which is the ridiculously hot weather (they should seriously plant more trees), it was an enjoyable trip. Lotsa good food. Cheap stuffs, including the beer. It seemed so much safer as compared to JB and KL too. Rich in heritage and culture. Lotsa colours and vibrancy. Lovezzzz~~~~

For our 4th Anniversary, I requested Dear to book a boutique hotel but I would not know which hotel he chose. Women simply love surprises, don't they? However, as usual, he could never keep a secret. I asked where we should park our car as he told me the hotel does not have a carpark. He told me he could park in URA building. So which hotel are we going people? SCARLET HOTEL la!!! Sianz. I should have kept my mouth shut.

Anyway, Dear Dear was so brillant to book Scarlet Hotel. I have been wanting to go to this hotel for eons. And I have to say, I SIMPLY ADORE SCARLET! Excellent service and sophisticated interior. Baroque-cum-Renaissance-cum-Vampire feel. (Even the staffs are dressed like vampires, especially the doorman. Haha.) Lotsa black, white and RED!!!!!! I told Dear these are my favourite colours and exactly the kind of feel I would like to have for our new home. Hee.

Before we checked into the hotel, we had our couple massage at Spa Infinity for just $18 per pax!!!! Citibank voucher. Tsk tsk. And it includes a free meal and spa facilities!!!! So wu hua loh!!!!! The place has rather nice ambience. Perhaps I can take up a package when my Truespa package is finished. Hee. No nice pictures on our massage session for you-know-why-la reasons. Tsk tsk.

I guess 2009 has been quite a smooth-sailing year for me. Not much hiccups. Found a job during the economy crisis. Pretty satisfied with the year.

Now for 2010, what should be my resolutions? Hmm.

According to Wikipedia:

HDB E-Gaming Tournament

HDB organised an inter-departmental e-gaming tournament which comprise Guitar Heroes, Counter Strike and Wii Tennis, was held at E-Max, Cineleisure. And surprisingly, a non-gamer like me, took part in it!!!!!

A team consisted of 4 members and for mine, it was a combination of 2 guys and 2 girls. Our strategy was simply to let the guys handle those tougher opponents and the girls just deal with the rest who are not so strong. When I say they were not strong, it meant that they couldn't even complete Guitar Heroes at Easy level. Thanks to some prior traing at Sicong's house, I could still manage to finish Easy level with much ease. Hee. As for CS, we just left it for the guys to fight it out. Killing is simply not my style. Tsk tsk.

Have been contemplating for quite some time - To perm or not to perm?

There was one fine day when Da Jiao asked me to go for a haircut together. On that very day, I decided.

My new PERM PERM.

The hairstylist took almost an hour to style my hair. The more he styled, the more I looked like a lion. Da Jiao said I looked like Lyo, the mascot for YOG. Tmd.

But frankly speaking, my hair was really damn freaking dry after the perm. It felt like that wasn't my hair at all. More like wearing a wig. I tried to style my hair myself to make it less 'explosive' looking and was shocked to find a bunch of hair snapped off!!!! That's the degree of dryness straight after the perm. The next day, I sweared I spent almost a hundred bucks at Watson for the purchase of hair sculpting lotion and treatments. Sighzzz.

This hairstyle gona last me for at least the next few months, if not I will be wasting my money man. Gona last me till CNY i guess. Before I go for my next makeover - Braces. =(

Since I have some time, I thought I can write something. If not TWH will complain I did not update again.

The storm is over for now. Lull period again. Been clearing my mail and memos. Never-ending. I have been contemplating if I should stay in this job for long. Weighing of pros and cons again. Haiz.

Lotsa memos to clear with my female boss. Now I understand why some people say working under female bosses are more stressful. -_- ~~~

Last Sunday, Dear and I went for KTV at Taman Jurong Partyworld. Surprisingly, my voice was in top form and Dear the vice versa. Was quite satisfied with most of the songs when some were actually sung for the first time. Hao lian sia~~~ As usual, my ears were blocked after the KTV session. It happens whenver I sing. Especially when I sing high notes. I heard Fan Weiqi also have this problem. Maybe I should see a doctor. Been procrastinating for quite some time liao. I guess I will never see one in the end. Hmmm.

Wanted to cook chicken rice last Saturday. Dear and I went to IMM for lunch with the intention of grocery-shopping at my favourite Giant. But I had some serious cramps after lunch and we went home after lunch and buying medicine for menstrual cramps. Dear and I then slept till 6pm. In different rooms. Woke up and bathed the cats. Had claypot rice for dinner. Then nuahed the rest of the nite by gaming and watching DVD. Watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona which was directed by Woody Allen. As per his usual style, unique plot which left viewers feeling bewildered. A threesome relationship can never happen to me. Ended Saturday night feeling disturbed.

Dear told me he had a strange dream yesterday. He was in a temple and about to shave his head to become a monk. All his relatives were around but his parents and I were not. He started to cry. Really cry. In the end, his mum heard him and woke him up. I told him he was such an attention seeker. Threatened to be monk and when people he cares for did not bother to stop him, he could not take it and thus he cried. Hee. Dear, don't angry k. I am just saying the exact words I told you. Hee.

Last Friday, I went to the AGM of Dear's soccer team. A bunch of crazy guys playing forfeit games. 2 guys kissing each other. Licking toes. Digging noses and let others lick. Totally absurd man. They even had award presentation which included awards for the Player's Player and Best Improved Player. Dear Dear was nominated for Best Improved Player. Noticed I said 'nominated'? Means never win la. Try harder for next year k. Hee. When the captain mentioned him and told him it was a tough fight, Dear started his classic imitation of Aaron Kwok again which was so entertaining to them. Duh. After presentation, there were even video presentations done by a couple of IT savvy guys in the team and showed the evolution of the team. So hilarious and interesting. Alot of effort and thought into it. Friends. Leader. Games. Presentation. Video. Reminded me of my SJAB days.

Jetstar had this 1-for-1 promotion last week and we wanted to book the Taiwan tickets for the family trip next year. However, Sis couldn't make it due to her NIE commitments. So I thought maybe Dear and I can go and we can go Australia for the family trip at end of next year. However, the Taiwan tickets were sold out too by the time we wanted to book. In the end, we decided to go Haikou since I have not been to China. $312 for 2 tickets!!!! Cheep cheep la! Hee. So there is a trip for me to look forward to now. So happy~~~~~

Haven't been to Amore for quite some time as I was sick last week and was busy with work for the past weeks. Excuses? Maybe. No motivation to exercise nowadays. Just feel like going home early and nuah. Tsk tsk. NOOOOOO!!!! I must start exercising regularly again. Tomorrow I shall go Amore as planned!

Old friends New lives

A few days ago, a schoolmate from my primary school suddenly messaged me in Facebook and informed me that my batchmates are having a gathering at Wala Wala this Wednesday. At first, I was rather reserved about the gathering, especially so when I knew the organiser was my ex-fling in my primary school days. I can't believe myself saying that too. But ya, I had flings when I was in primary school. It was such a long story. 3 good friends aka The 3 Musketeers wooed me and I chose the most outspoken one who happened to be the 'leader' of the group. However, there were some upsets and I began to realise the one whom I neglected the most was actually the one who I should cherish the most. Over the years, I had thoughts of finding him but those thoughts eventually wandered off. Perhaps I didn't have the courage.

Now, the leader and the neglected are married. The neglected even has a kid. I went to check out his photos in Friendbook and I can see that he is still quite good looking and is happily married with a cute daughter. Emotions overwhelmed me. Happy. Envious. Regretful. A mixture of them but with a majority of the latter. It makes me wonder: All my ex-es are happily married. I felt lost all of a sudden.

Nonetheless, I had lots of fun in this gathering which I did not expect at all. I was surprised that I was able to recognise most of them. In fact, they still looked quite the same except for the change in height and English names. After 14 years, it was really refreshing to see all these friends whom I had so much fun and memories with back then. I almost forgot that I used to chase guys all around the school and tuckshop especially during tuckshop. I even poked a mechanical pencil into a guy's thigh and the lead was stuck inside his thigh for a few days! This particular guy also confessed to my best friend which caused her to cry and her mother to give him a big scolding. So much fun to be rekindling all these memories, especially so when all of us have loosened up after a few glasses of beer. What a pity that we did not keep in contact with each other till now. But I guess it is not too late to start now. Bravo to Facebook!

Thanks to Da Jiao, we got free tickets for the F1 Practice Session on last Friday! Though I am not really interested in such stuffs, why not since the tickets are free anyway! Hee.

All I can say is,
F1 IS DAMN FUCKING BAD FOR THE EARS!!!!!!!!!!
Even after putting on the earplugs (which are of half-fuck quality), the sound of the car engine was still damn loud! For those who knew me well, ya, my ears are sensitive and I can't stand loud noises. That's why I had to cover my ears when I am with the Pinkies sometimes. Tsk tsk.

Anyway, my eardrums got kind of immuned to the loudness after half an hour or so. But I still needed my earplugs. I can't believe it when there are actually people who did not use the earplugs at all! *applaud* Maybe they were deaf already.

After more than 2 hours of vroom and vroomm, it reaffirmed my disinterest in F1. But it was an experience. Been there done that. Fullstop. I rather watch the race on TV. In an air-conditioned room. Bleh.

I actually went in with my family to take our long-waited 全家幅 phototaking session. Though we had to spend a couple of hours stuck in the jam, it was still worth the trip. For the same quality and service in Singapore's studios, it costs half the cost to take in Malaysia. So why not?!?!?

All 3 are the same size and are completely new. I threw away mine as the handle was spoilt. Tsk tsk. Thankfully, Moreen came light and Rabbit's luggage was light too.

I was in my uncle's HDB 1-room flat.

It was late and I decided to head home.

I took the stairs.

It was pitch dark.

As I climbed down the stairs, I decided to sing to pass time.

I was singing Xiong Tian Ping and Xu Ru Yun's classic duet "Ni De Yan Qing".

My hand was on the handrail as I walked down the stairs.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on mine. (And I swear I really felt something on my hand while asleep. Haha.)

"Bu rang ni de yan qing....." I heard.

It was another person's voice.

But I saw no one!

I ran down the stairs frantically.

Trying to think of another song to sing so that that 'person' won't be able to sing the same song.

A non-duet that is.

Finally, I got out of the HDB block and rushed home.

I called Dear immediately.

Before I could tell him about my horror encounter, we quarrelled.

That's what I get when I sleep too early. Hmm.

Ballet Under the Stars

Last Saturday, Dear and I went for this outdoor ballet performance organised by the Singapore Dance Theatre. Outdoor + Picnic + Dance + Stars. Sounds like fun. After spending a few hours preparing our picnic food, we headed down to Fort Canning Park.

We were shocked to see the amount of people who went for the event.

The food which made me even more ill.

Those kids behind us were damn irritating. Whenever there was someone in front of us, they would complain and shout (at a volume that could not reach the person) at the person to sit down or to move away. They were actually more irritating than the people who blocked our view. Argh.

I wonder if she is really interested in the performances.

Trying to endure the heat, noise and crowd.

This event was more like a family day event. Parents brought along their kids. Friends came to gather for picnic rather than to watch performance. We even smelled durians. We couldn't even get a clear view of the stage as there were always people walking past and the heads in front kept shifting. In the end, we left 1 hour before the performance ended.

Conclusion: I will not be going for such performances again. Waste of $$ and time.

This year's NDP is rather interesting and different from the past as it is rather similar to a musical. Lotsa pop music and PINK, apart from the usual displays of the armed forces. Very entertaining. The only drawback about such rehearsals was that the MCs had to refer to their scripts and the main performing artistes such as Chen Wei Lian and Electrico were not present. Staffs carrying their name boards stood in their place instead. One of them even pretended that he was Electrico and was strumming air guitar. Talk about self-indulgence.

However, there was a person whom we must applaud to during the show.

She remained seated during the ENTIRE preview. Even when the anthem was played and when we were reciting the pledge. Wondered why she was there in the first place. Might as well stay home and watch your TV la, Auntie! Even the Ang Moh beside me had the courtesy to show some respect to our country. PUI!

Father's Day

Dear's family dinners are usually quite boring as his Dad always go for Chinese food and he MUST eat rice. Thanks to Dear's brother, we went to something different and the place was much more interesting than the usual restaurants.

The food was actually quite good but they were rather short-handed. We waited for more than half an hour for them to refill our tea. In the end, we just drank our Coke. We ordered the set dinner for 4 which consists of a pomfret steamboat, curry leaves crayfish, chilli crab, tea leaves duck and dessert for around $160. Quite a good deal. Ate until ba ba and left the place happily.

Hoping

For days, I have been on anxiety.

I kept myself occupied with work to prevent my mind from straying.

Negative thoughts overwhelmed me whenever I was idle.

‘Will I be able to face the worst?’

‘Will there be anyone to help me?’

Will this be the end of it?’

I couldn’t help but feared the worst.

Pessimism was acting up again.

However, it did help me prepare for the worst.

Finally, I received the call which I have anticipated for days which seemed ages.

As expected, it is not positive.

But it is not the worst too.

There is still hope.

Plentiful. I hope.

Pink BBQ

The long-awaited BBQ gathering for the Pinkies was finally realised. But the mood was dampened when it started to pour in West Coast Park. I really pei fu the Pinkies. They can actually still chit-chat under a shelter which was leaking when it was raining so heavily! All I wanted was to just seek shelter man. Kudos to the Pinkies! Thankfully to Dear's suggestion, we made our way to the alternate BBQ spot - Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Park! Near to Dear's house actually. Tsk tsk.

However, we still had to overcome several hiccups before we could start the BBQ. The BBQ pits were locked by the Town Council and an irritating auntie who was having a party for her 1-year old grandson, was niam-ing at us that we need to book the pits from Town Council and the pits we used are for Muslims only. A Malay man was standing by the window and staring at us, probably thinking that we shouldn't use the Muslim pits.

Thankfully, the food we ordered were halal! So we won't contaminate your Muslim pits la. Neh neh ni boo boo. Haha. Childish. Since we intended to use aluminium trays as the pits in the first place, the locked pits were not a problem. After we managed to shoo the kaypo auntie away, we started the event!

Journey to the East

After much nagging and niam-ing (by me of course), Dear and I finally went to ECP to fulfill my dream of riding on a double-seater bicycle! Hee. My dream is so minor hor. But I just thought it would be so lomantic and sweet mah. Hahaha.

On the way back to return our bicycle. Glaring glaring sun.

We saw many groups of people building sandcastles and made a stop.

This castle has been around since 2005. Do you believe it? I quote the person-in-charge: "Sandcastles only get wet when it rains. The only reason why they get destroyed is because of naughty children."

End of the ride!

We then proceeded for dinner which we wanted to go to the infamous Beach Road Prawn Noodles at East Coast Road. However, it was closed. Sobz. Totally no fate with it. In the end, we went to Geylang and had beancurd, vermicilli and some lousy food. Sobz.

I realised I got this HUGE bruise after the ride but I don't remember how I got it. Fyi, I ALWAYS fall down when I cycle. For once, I broke my record of not falling while cycling. Maybe because I am not the one riding it anyway. Haha.

Shitty Loser

My honeymoon which lasted for less than 3 month, had ended. Sometimes, I don't even have the time to clear my bowels. Unlike Dear who can shit anytime (sometimes even 3 or more times a day), once my feeling is gone, it is GONE. I will have to wait for the next day for the feeling to come again. Thus, I always treasure that 'coming' moment and would dash to the toilet before it goes away.

Anyway, that is not the main point of shitting that I want to talk about. I want to talk about what traumatized me in my office toilet a while ago. After I managed to clear my work just now, the moment was still lingering on and I made my way to the toilet. The damn thing is, my usual cubicle, i.e. the handicapped toilet was occupied! I really like this toilet. It even plays Class 95 which is my favourite station! Anyway, I went to the other toilet where there are 2 cubicles and one of it was occupied. Dammit. I can't shit in peace this time.

As usual, my stomach has a lot of gas and yes, I would need to fart. However, knowing that there was someone beside me, I tried to control the releases of my gases. Shortly after I came in, this person left and I thought I shall quickly finish my job before another one comes in. But by the time I ended that thought, another person has already come in. Haiz.

But what this person did shock the hell out of me. She actually farted damn loudly la! And not just once. It was a series of splattering poots. You know what I mean la. I almost burst out laughing man. Here I am trying to be polite by controlling my gases and there you are blasting like there is no one else beside you. I tried to overcome my 'timidness' and gave a teeny weeny whistle. But it was followed by another series of blastering again, from her of course. Buay paisei one leh! Come on, I am beside you loh!

After much contemplation (and fyi, I have not shat at all, just a tiny fart), I decided to throw in my towel, or rather toilet paper, and made my way to my favourite private cubicle. I concluded that I am no match for her. Thankfully, the handicapped cubicle was vacated shortly after I came out from the war zone and I finally finished my business in peace.

Even though both of us can just hide within our cubicles and wait for 1 of us to leave before the next, so as to save the embarrassment, I still did not have the courage to persist on. The idea of 2 women belching loudly, side by side, is kind of overwhelming for me. Like I am not stressed enough at work now. Even shitting has to be so stressful. I still prefer to do my business in peace, alone.

I am such a shitty loser. =(

P.S: I wanted to wait outside the toilet and see who my 'competitor' was but I figured that she should be gone by the time I was done. Probably an auntie. Tsk Tsk.

Moi 26th Birthday - Part III

The Swiss hardly get to meet each other now. All of us are so busy with our work and the only time we get to meet each other is when there is a birthday celebration.

Moi 26th Birthday - Part II

Think I had the busiest week ever since I started work. My colleagues asked me why I did not take leave on my birthday. I thought I had taken a couple of days for my Bali trip recently, so it wouldn't be nice to take leave again, especially when that week is so busy. But all my colleagues said: "Aiyo, it's ok one la! Just take leave lah. There are people around to cover you ah." Duh. Ok. I will take it next time then. Got to wait for another year though. Haiz. -_-

Since my birthday falls on a Tuesday and I did not take leave, Dear celebrated my birthday on the Saturday before my birthday. We decided to be tourists for a day, that is to go to Sentosa!

Our next stop - 4D show

Queuing up for the Pirates in the Carribean 4D show and somebody farted while we were in the room. Damn. Anyway the show was fun...so funny to see Dear getting a fright...hee...but I still prefer the one in Hong Kong Disneyland..

Time for dinner and we went for steamboat which I had craved for ages.

Dear drank Taiwan beer for the 1st time...

After dinner, Dear said he was bringing me for a drive-in movie. I was so looking forward to it! We went to 7-11 and bought our snacks and beer and drove up to Mt Faber. However, Dear stopped the car in a carpark and told me we would be watching the movie in the car - with his laptop. I was dumb-founded. But Dear Dear is so cute to come up with this idea! Hee hee. Not wanting to dampen his enthusiasm, we still watched the movie in his car but we changed to Labrador Park instead as the view in the Mt Faber carpark wasn't really that great. Halfway through the show, we could not take the heat anymore and went back home to finish the show instead. Haha. But still, I appreciate the thought Dear!

Dear's birthday@Bali - Day III

We then went to Uluwatu Temple which is said to have the best sunset in Bali....lotsa monkeys found there....and all very scary as they will just snatch off items from your face, head or hands...for exchange of food....

Moi beri scared of the monkey....afraid it will just scratch my face when I was taking the photo with it....and push me off the cliff...

Dear's Birthday@Bali - Day II

What do we need to start a brand new day? A good breakfast with fresh air surrounding of course!

Waiting for my breakfast...

And so is the grounchy old man...

Fruits and cereal...essentials to clear the bowels...

Bacon and omelette for moi....and ya...no buffet...just this...sobz...

We then started our day tour which is included in the hotel package. The 1st stop was this Elephant Temple.

We entered the cave temple and saw this. Lotsa smoke. There was an altar at the end of it and holes at the side walls which are meditation spots for the priests. Spooky.

Off to the next temple. Thousands of steps to climb before we reached the temple. Nice view along the climb.

We finally reached the temple! It became so cooling the moment we entered the temple. And let Priest Lee cleanse you with some holy water before you enter.

Tour guide brought us to a restaurant which has view of Mt Batur. Buffet which was not that great and not worth the money too. Look how angry Dear is.

After an hour's sleep on the van, we finally reached our last stop - Rice terraces.

Sun is too damn glaring.
