I guess everyone has something to write in their blogs after watching Secret. So here I am.
It wasn't even easy for me to buy the tickets for this show. Supposedly, Dear had this pair of Cathay movie pass which was valid till today but we couldn't use it for Secret as this movie was not under the free list. So, we decided to watch Perfect Strangers which was under the free list. But the newbie at the ticket counter said we couldn't use the passes as they were all given out for the day. They will give us another pair which will be valid for next week. Ok fine. So I said I wanted to watch Secret instead then. Save Perfect Strangers for the next time when we can use the passes. BUT the newbie said we couldn't do that as Secret was not in the free list. What logic is that!?!?!?!?! I can't use the pass, so I am going to pay for a non-free-list movie now, save the pass for the next free-list-movie and I CAN'T DO THAT?!?!?!? I broke out, scolded F*** (intended for the newbie but I scolded it at Dear) and walked off, leaving Dear to continue the pointless conversation with that newbie.
In the end, the supervisor came to resolve the problem and did things the logical way. We paid for Secret and got the new movie passes.
Lesson learnt: When in doubt, go clarify things first before you spout nonsense.
Then, we went for dinner and shopped a bit in the Cathay. Apparently, there is nothing much in the Cathay. It is opened officially for some time and many shops are still not opened. I doubt I will be going back to Cathay to watch movies again, given the fact that the carpark charges are so damn expensive too. But I got a really good deal: I bought a shirt for only $20!!!!! Best buy!!!!!
We finally got into the theatre and Dear told me Aaron Kwok cried while watching the movie. So, I was anticipating throughout the movie and waiting to cry my heart out. But that moment never came. When is the part that I am supposed to cry?
But after watching Secret, I can't help but wonder:
How did he find the time to do so many things?!?!?!?!?!?
He writes songs, sings and records them, chases girls, and even has the time to think of such a good movie plot, acts and directs it!!!!! Not forgetting, he actually has the time to practise piano!!! Is he god or what?!?!?
But there's this part in the show which makes me wonder: Did they really play that well? Or did they fast forward like what Dear suggested? Cos' I noticed some parts when the music wasn't in sync with the hand movements. I shall give them the benefit of doubt then.
Overall, I think this is a movie worth watching, given the fact that Jay is a 1st-timer in scripting and directing. But the parts where Jay picked Little Rain were a bit cheesy and I was rolling my eyes all the way. At first, Dear even thought that the plot could be something similar to “Sixth Sense" but the twist to it proved otherwise. The way he linked up everything is amazing. I have underestimated him. Interesting. (shall not reveal it for people who haven't watch)
After the movie, Dear and I were so engrossed in its reviews that we forgot to take the paper bag with my $20 shirt in it!!!!!!!!!!! (which we only realised when we got home.) So, Dear drove back and thank god the staff found it and kept it for us. Whey.
Another eventful experience for watching the Secret. 4/5
