New Year Resolutions

Now that 2008 is coming to an end, let me evaluate the resolutions I had for the year.

#1 Obtain my Masters in Architecture.
Half-passed - I passed my Masters but I will only be getting the degree next year.

#2 Find a job that is high-paying and self-fulfilling.
Failed

#3 Save at least $5k for my graduation trip. (Japan *@*)
Failed

#4 Be more thrifty. (in order to achieve #3)
Since I failed #3, I guess I failed this too.

#5 Lose at least 3kg. (eat less, exercise more!!!!!)
Confirm failed.

#6 Control my temper more and treat Dear Dear better.
I think I passed? Hmmm....Dear?

#7 More meet-ups with my friends especially Pink Army.
Confirm passed. Right pinkies?

#8 Spend more time with my family.
Should be passed too.

Total score : 3 1/2 passes / 8 passes

FAILED!!!!!!!

NO GOOD NO GOOD!!!!!

2008 has not been a very good year for me I guess. Many hiccups, especially academically.

Now for my NEW new year resolutions for 2009 (as listed on the right).

Almost the same I guess.

#1 Get a job by Feb 2009
#2 Be more thrifty & save $$
#3 Lose 3 kg of weight
#4 Toned body & better complexion
#5 Exercise regularly
#6 Not to fall sick monthly
#7 Go for a holiday trip
#8 Control my temper better
#9 Be a better girlfriend

Let's hope 2009 will be a better and smooth-sailing year for me.

Xmas Part II - 24th Dec

Christmas Countdown with the Pinkies

Dinner at Billy Bombers@The Central

As usual, we had the Christmas dinner and since the KTV we were going to is in Chinatown, we decided to have a cheap dinner at Central. The usual eating, chatting and photo-taking session during dinner. Too bad we forgot to take a group photo before we left.

Cheers with Milkshake!

KTV session@Crystabelle
After dinner, we made our way to Crystabelle which is the fave hangout place of Dear and his friends. Initially, we wanted to go to Top One KTV where their big room has the standing Elvis mike and dry ice. However, upon making a deposit for the room, I checked out the room and realised the room they gave us was the smaller one and was way too small to fit all of us. Dear then suggested that we go to Crystabelle as they have just renovated and the room is quite big and the charges are cheap. So Crystabelle we went!!!!

A few of us agreed that we can wear the Xmas hat this time to have the Xmas mood and Junie said Huijun will be buying them as small gifts for us, thus we do not have to buy ourselves. But in the end, Huijun did not buy them at all!!!! What a disappointment!!!! In the end, only Dear and I were in the Xmas mood with his Xmas hat and my butterfly-ish angel accessories.

It was a night filled with phototaking and singing, though only a few of them were singing. I realised the enthusiasm of the group is rather short burst. Once a song that is meant for group singing is played, most of us will be enthusiastic as first but after the 1st chorus is over, the volume eventually dies off.

When it was time to countdown, we shouted countdown and did a "Kallang Pop" with the poppers. After that, the singing resumed. No hugs. No screaming. No shouting of "Merry Xmas!" (not that I can remember.). Dear Dear said our group not very happening. The Pinkies are very calm. I kind of agree too. Haha.

And the endless taking of photos begins....

Then it was time for gift-exchange. It was very chaotic as there were nine of us doing the exchanging. There was the big gift that we exchanged by drawing lots and the cards and small gifts that each of us will receive. I wonder how the singing could continue when there were so many hands moving in front of the screen.

This year, many of them put alot of thought into the gifts and cards and it was really sweet of them. As I did not really contribute much to the gift exchange for the last couple of years, I thought I should put in more effort this time. Thus, I decided to make some customised chocolate cupcakes and cards. Nice right? However, not all the cupcakes had raisins and chocolate chips in them, so I wonder if those that did not have them tasted ok. Hee.

Xmas Part 1 - 22nd Dec

Dinner with the Swiss@New York New York, Citylink

This time, Yumei could not make it and we got ourselves a substitute - Wang Sicong! Heehee. And because of him, the girls had a hard time buying the gifts as they have to be unisex. Yet, he got the easy way as he just had to buy for girls!!!

Sicong, Xiujiao and I shared a Meat Platter for 2 and despite the portion is meant for 2, we couldn't finish it. It was simply too meaty. Serene had fish and chips as she had to eat SOFT~ food. Hee.

Moi with the Super-Latecomer

Food for 3...Looks small?

Not it's not! Sicong is praying that we can finish the food.

Then it was the long-awaited gift exchange! I am always so looking forward to it as I will wonder what gift I can get this time. After drawing lots, it turned out the Serene and Xiujiao exchanged with each other and Sicong and I. I gave him an umbrella packed into a bottle labeled "0% Alcohol". The gift has found the right owner. My gift has the smallest packaging and the gift was even smaller. A lipgloss from L'Occotane. Thank you, Sicong! But no *muackz*.

Then, I gave them the homemade cards which all of us had a good laugh over. Should have made one for myself as I was being left out! But it is kind of stupid if I made one for myself too? Hmmm.

The gifts....

and the lots.

What did we get?

Lotions, Cupcakes, Lipgloss and Umbrella!!!

Home-made Christmas Cards

Packed into their envelopes and....

Sent!

The Buddies

We even had candy floss! Freshly flossed one ok! Thanks to Serene who reminded us to have it before we left. I didn't even know that New York New York has such a service as it was my first time dining in it. It has been ages since I had one...So niceee~ Sicong even disguised himself as a beardman with the candy floss. He and his usual stunts again. Gota wait for Serene to send me the picture.

Another night spent with lotsa updates and laughter. =)
Merry Christmas!!!

3rd Anniversary

Dear and I decided to spend this year's anniversary at Austin Heights i.e. Johor Bahru. For the same amount of money, we could enjoy double the worth in JB, so why not?

As we could only check in at 3pm, we decided to go to AEON Tebrau City for lunch and some shopping for new year clothes (abit early I know..hee..). Heard that this shopping centre is very big and indeed it is. Furthermore, there wasn't much crowd. We like!!!The first thing we did was to have lunch and we went to Kinsahi as I had a craving for Japanese ramen.

3rd anniversary!

While waiting for the food...

which was a rather long wait....

Still waiting...

Where is my food?!?!?!?

Finally...my tom yam ramen is here....

Dear's Miso chicken ramen...

After lunch, we had 2 scoops of Baskins and Robbin and it was time for shopping!!!!!
We bought a bottle of wine for dinner later and some grocers at the supermarket...
I bought a pair of jeans and a pair of heels which i liked very much...both with a tinge of pink and...Dear Dear bought a pink shirt...
More items striked off from the shopping list of CNY!! YEA!!!

It was dinner soon and it was time for us to head to the hotel. The place turns out better than I expected. We were greeted by lush greenery as we drove up to the hotel and the interior design was tastefully done. But what shocked us was the room, or should I say it was actually a suite?!?!? There were a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom with jacuzzi, a shower and 2 toilets! Why the hell do we need two toilets? There are even a toilet bowl and an urinal in a toilet! I will never want to shit with Dear together in the same toilet loh. But I like the idea of having two sinks. There is even a TV above the jacuzzi and the bathroom is even bigger than my room. All I had in mind was a room with a toilet that has a jacuzzi! But for RM$252, I am not complaining . I am exclaiming in joy!!!

Here we are!! Austin Hills Golf Resort!

So after much exclamations and explorations of the room, we decided to call for room service. Since the room is so nice, we might as well have our dinner in the room. That's where all my complaints will come in. The room is so big yet there is no sight of any menu at all! We had to call 2 times, once to room service and another to the kitchen to get someone to send a menu up. We then ordered two soups, a chicken chop, a sirloin steak, curry chicken with bread and a pair of wine glasses.

After waiting for almost an hour, the food finally came and they were less than lukewarm.

Neh mind.

To our astonishment, there were bread accompanied with the soups too! God dammit! We ended up having 3 plates of bread. Shouldn't they tell us that the soup comes with bread and suggest us to get rice with the curry instead?

Neh mind.

We asked for wine glass. They gave us tall drinking glasses.

Neh mind.

We asked for corkscrew opener. They said they don't have. They served wine but don't have corkscew opener?

Neh mind. We have other means to open the wine bottle.

However, there was a limit to my tolerance. The moment I sliced my beef, I was infuriated. The meat was as tough as leather. I could hardly cut it, not to say chew it. I ordered for medium rare and it turned out to be well done, or perhaps overdone. I then called the kitchen asking for a new plate and passed the phone to Dear in the end as I simply gave up. The person can't even understand English. @#$%&*@#$%&*@#$%&*

After waiting for another half an hour, 2 staff came up with a plate of steak. Faint.
Why do they need to get 2 staff to serve a plate of meat? We sliced the meat and it turned out better. This time they gave me medium well. Better than well done. BUT I WANT MEDIUM RARE!!! The chef MUST make it a point that the meat is WELL cooked. Great. Fine. Forget it. We said ok and they left and I am stuck with a plate of inedible food again. I swear I am never going to order steak unless I am in a restaurant. @#$%&*@#$%&*@#$%&*

And an inedible Sirloin steak for me.

Fatal attempt in opening the wine bottle

After dinner, we then get ourselves busy with the room facilities. First thing of course, jacuzzi! Wine and TV while soaked in jacuzzi - a scene that we thought we will only get to see in TV shows. After paying so much money, we make it a point to waste as much water we can for the hotel. Bahahahahahahahaha.

Dear drowned in Jacuzzi

We then spend the rest of the night watching TV. Dear fell asleep after reading a page of his storybook and I finished writing my Christmas cards. We were then greeted by a gloomy raining sky the next morning. =(

We had a disappointing breakfast and took some pictures of the hotel before we left the place. The only things of the hotel that are worth visiting are its nice surroundings, room and golf facilities. Other than that, everything sucks! The food and the service especially. The hotel is more for family and friends. Basically, it is like you go to this beach, you picked up a really beautiful shell and ended up dirtying your hands with the plentiful of shit inside it.

If you are just there to stay and have fun in your room all the time and..
You don't mind not eating in the hotel and....
You can tolerate a few moments of terribly lousy services....
Feel free to go to Austin Hills Golf Resort!!! It is a very nice place to go to!!!!

Buffet breakfast...what you see here is what you get.
