I guess city-dwellers have over-relied on modern technology and we can be totally helpless with the loss of it. This feeling came to me when the lighting circuit of my house tripped as one of the lights was faulty. I had been living in darkness when night came. Candles lit up our rooms. I was so afraid that my house might catch fire. (Time to buy home insurance) I had to bathe in darkness with the aid of torchlight. Thankfully, only the lights were affected. Imagine if I had to bathe with COLD water and in darkness. And no TV. No internet. No nothing. Sleeping was the only activity I could do at night if electricity was totally out. No wonder country folks have so many kids.
But at the rate that we are depleting our natural resources, this luxurious indulgence will soon be over. Recently, Dear said something which really hit me hard - "Humans are parasites. We deplete the resources in our habitat without contributing to it." Indeed, we are. So why do we exist? Everything needs a balance of good and bad? Or simply because every good thing must have a ending to it and we are sent here to end it all?
P.S. My lights are back again. Yea!!!!!!
