Last night was the night I have been waiting for so long (besides the Amei concert) - Jacky Cheung's concert!!!!!!
But what happened before the concert really spoilt our mood.
01. Dear got a parking summon.
02. We had a quarrel in the car. (because of the summon)
03. We could not find a parking lot at Indoor Stadium. (Dear had to park at Tanjong Rhu and I waited for him at the entrance for around 20 minutes.)
04. We were late for the concert and missed the opening for around 5 minutes.
Thankfully, I was not familiar with the opening song, so I guess I did not miss out a lot. As soon as we got into the concert, our anger was totally appeased. Jacky Cheung is really powerful!!!!! No fanciful choreography. Just a magnificient vocal. And a great humour. But of course there were songs where dancers were around, especially for fast songs. He can just stand alone on stage without any dancers and he and the audience can still be very high. Every song sounded like it was played from the CD or something. He can jump, turn, bend down or kick his leg to his face but his singing remains un-disrupted. Not forgetting he is already 46 years old (and put on weight liao) and he can still sing and dance around like that. POWER!!!!!
The best part was the extract of the Xue Lang Hu musical. Why didn't I go for Xue Lang Hu that time?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? *stabs* (cos I was broke?) I think either my mouth was open throughout the concert or my eyebrows were frowning as his voice was simply too overwhelming. The other best part was the encore. (there were alot of best parts in this concert) The concert lasted for around 2 hours before the encore and I was thinking, "Isen't the concert 3 hours long?" Yes, the other 1 hour was for the encore which was amazing as a typical encore session will usually end after a few songs. All the songs sang were the classic ones, those that we always hear in KTV.
Everyone was so high during the encore except for the one sitting on my left. Another guy who was accompanying his girlfriend who likes Jacky Cheung. I really hate to sit with someone like that. And the one on my right who kept singing along with Jacky, was kind of disrupting me from listening to Jacky's properly. haiz.. And there were people who left before the concert ended, most probably they needed to rush for the last train or they did not want to be stuck in the jam later. Waste of money right?
After singing for around 3 hours, I was thinking, "When will <<想和你去吹吹風>> be sung?" And yes, he finally sang it!!!! The second last song of the night. Then for the final song, it was <<朋友>>. It really reminded me of the St. John Inspection Night when all of us sang this song as our farewell song. Tears welled up my eyes as I was too touched. My goosepimples came out too. (or because it was very cold and I needed to pee) Everyone was singing along with Jacky and it was indeed a great song to end the concert. A spectacular concert which lasted for almost 4 hours. A worthy spent!!!! But my ears were ringing after the concert.
And it was the usual phototaking session after the concert ended. Kinda regreted not buying the first-class seats. It would have been so much nicer to see him sing upclose and personal as compared to watching the screens. But at least I was able to listen to him sing live for once. Heard that this may be his last world tour concert. There was a time when people said he was so 'over' and was not as popular as before. Then he said, "As long as there are people listening to my singing, even if there is only one person below the stage, I will still sing for him." Don't worry Jacky, there is more than one. The whole Indoor Stadium was filled with your supporters loh. Jacky, keep on singing k?歌神,我永遠支持你!!!!!!
