After reading my primary school best friend, Sandy's recent entry about Doomsday, I felt that all my worries and thoughts might be just pointless.
As I was watching the documentary, fear and worry started to overwhelm me. I asked myself, should that day really come, how will it be like and who do I want to be with? The answer was very obvious. I want to be with my family and Dear. But I know Dear will want to be with his family too. So does Mei who will want to be with her boyfriend. Likewise, her boyfriend will have the same thoughts too. The chain is infinite. Thus, I figured out that all of us, and I mean the whole of Singapore should just gather at a place. Perhaps Padang? Airport? I guess there isn't a place huge enough to house the entire population. But my point is, I can just imagine all of us gathering at a place, hugging and kissing each other other while waiting for our deaths.
Perhaps we may meet again in the other world. Or we may just be reduced to ashes or fossils for the next generation to uncover.
But is the prophecy really true? Is Doomsday really coming? With the recent catastrophes of Myanmar and China, I can't help but feel pessimistic about it.
If the world is really coming to an end in 2012 i.e. in 4 years' time, why should I be worrying about my future when it will simply be reduced to dust eventually? Rather, I should be thinking how I can live my life to the fullest and to spend quality time with my loved ones. Not forgetting to do more good deeds in fear that I may land up in hell after death.
So where should I start now?
Since it is Vesak Day tomorrow, I shall whip up a vegetarian meal for my family and Dear.
