New Year Countdown 2009

It was the usual tradition for the Swiss to spend a themed new year's eve together. However, this year's celebration almost could not make it as everyone was kind of waiting for things to happen and after much last minute planning (and it was by Your Highness - Moi again!!! Can someone else do the job next time? >.< ), we eventually settled to have a dinner cum chill-out session at Villa Bali. Of course we must have a theme this time too! Since we are outdoors, it would be rather awkward to be fully dressed, thus, we had a mini theme instead i.e. party accessories.

We ordered 3 new year platters-for-2 which comes with cocktails too. Though the platter is priced at $80++, I guess it was still quite worth the money, considering that the food was quite good and the drinks especially. Buddy and I ordered for free flow of alcohol at $40 per pax with the intention of Serene and her sharing a glass and Dear and I. It turned out Xiujiao was drinking the bulk of hers and me drinking mine solely as Dear was already too high when he joined us after his drinking session with his friends.

Then it was costume and phototaking time after dinner!!! Initially, everyone was kind of shy as the table we had was kind of open to the public and didn't have the private party room feel. However, I am glad that everyone eventually warmed up and was sporting enough to have some fun despite the looks and sneers from the surrounding tables. Who cares about them man!?! BOOOOOOOO!!!!

Then it was time for countdown and most of us were worried that we could not use the poppers and spray cans that we brought. Our worries were unsought for after we seeked permission from the management and they even distributed poppers to every table too. When the clock striked twelve, everyone turned crazy and all were covered with 'snow' and confetti. It was so much fun to countdown with so many dear friends and fun-lovers in the restaurant. The right kind of place really matters to have a great countdown. We did not have to squeeze our butt with others yet we could still have a lot of fun and went home without a jam. Well done!!!
