Today, I tried drinking manuka honey mixed with water for the first time.
According to information I gathered, honey is slightly acidic in pH, so it may react with metal and de-ionise the natural antibacterial ingredients in it. So, there will be no point in consuming it if the honey comes into contact with metal.
Thus, I made effort to bring a plastic teaspoon to office.
I scooped 1 teaspoon of honey into my cup and added in hot and cold water to ensure that the water will be at room temperature which is the other point to remember.
As I stirred, I realised I did a dumb mistake.
My cup is metal. (thermal mug)
How smart I am.
